Reflecting on Hurricane Ivan in Grenada

admin September 7, 2012

Ask any Grenadian about their experience during Hurricane Ivan and you will hear different personal accounts all surrounding the theme of devastation, destruction, fear, horror and yet, unity.  In the midst of the chaos during the storm, people opened the doors of what was left of their homes to give refuge to those whose homes were blown away.  In the aftermath, communities came together to salvage what they could and repair or rebuild roofs for neighbors and friends.

Today, September 7, 2012 we look back and remember the damage Category 3 Hurricane Ivan inflicted on Grenada as it swept through the island eight years ago, ripping apart and mangling everything in its path. We at True Blue Bay Resort also take a moment to look around us now and admire the beauty of what is today and are grateful to be alive.

Many hotels in Grenada were damaged during the storm but we are happy today that most have rebuilt and that there are hardly any physical signs of the damage.
